these photos were born in my second year of college when I was 21 years old, visiting my grandmother’s abandoned childhood home in Boones Mill, VA. Static, untouched, and frozen in time, the remaining objects haunted and confused me, just like the unshared history of my Virginia family that I was just beginning to explore. they serve as an exploration of both my family history and the process of medium format film, which I had recently picked up for the very first time.
